The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations.  robot vacuum cleaner reviews  can be ideal for those who want to remove mopping from their list of tasks. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through a clean.

It's efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as good. The rotating mop spins at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't make the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install and performs well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a range of features.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and also identify furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will affect how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and carpets.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It's important to keep in mind that it has periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able to capture a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too basic and you had to change the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a pain when you live in a house that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it comes with some distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it is entangled in a blockage like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxes.
